The stars are aligning for our CS:GO main team as we head to the Grand Final of Brazy Party 2023 after beating 9INE 2-0 in the Semi-final.
Despite a tough first map we now stand victorious after defeating 9INE 22-19 on Vertigo and comfortably cruising past the opponent team with a 16-7 win on Ancient, thereby also locking in as the first finalists of Brazy Party 2023.
The whole team looked great and worked together to solidify our spot in the Grand Final, but in particular it was the dynamic duo of device and blameF who had turned up the heat as each of them delivered 53 kills across the series' two maps.
The Semi-final match against 9INE, the Polish team ranked 19th in the world, began on 9INE's most comfortable map pick, Vertigo, on which the Poles boasted an impressive a 16-map win streak prior to this match.
The Polish team was indeed making us work hard from the beginning of the map as we started on the CT side and were just trailing behind the opponents at the end of the first half 7-8.
The back-and-forth trend of the first half continued into the second half as we fought hard on the T side to conquer the Poles who resiliently kept answering back with round wins eventually forcing Vertigo into overtime.
It was clear that 9INE desperately were refusing to let go of their 16-win streak on Vertigo as we had to take the game into double OT before finally being able to break the Poles on our T side to win the first map 22-19 and thereby ending 9INE's Vertigo win-streak.
The ever-present duo of device and blameF yet again delivered the knockout punches to our opponents with blameF achieving 35 kills with 95.7 ADR and a 1.31 rating while device got 32 kills with a 1.24 rating. Team captain gla1ve also showed up in a big way, delivering 30 kills with a 1.14 rating.
Riding high on the momentum from the first map, we went into our map pick, Ancient, with guns blazing right out of the gate.
Starting on the T side we quickly set a dominating tone for the entirety of the second map as we cruised past the Polish team ending the first half 12-3 in our favor.
The Poles tried to answer back with 4 round wins on their T side but with our whole squad hitting the right notes, there was nothing 9INE could do to prevent our dominant race to victory as we swiftly sealed the win 16-7 on Ancient thus winning the series 2-0.
It is safe to say that Altekz is having himself quite a debut tournament run on the team as we head to the Grand Final, which will take place on May 3rd at 20:00 CEST.
