After careful consideration, Astralis has decided to temporarily put its women’s team on hold. The roster, which currently includes Linnea Claesson, Thea Evensen, Katharina Bauenmand, Isabella Ferslev, and Marie Toft, has been a significant part of Astralis' commitment to advancing women’s esports.
Sports Director Kasper Straube comments:
“I am saddened that today we must say goodbye to our five talented and ambitious female players. We have seen a team and five players who have continuously evolved, and we have been proud and happy to support them at Astralis. Unfortunately, we must acknowledge that the changes in the industry surrounding the women’s league no longer allow us to manage a women’s team in the way we believe it should be run at this time.”
Straube continues:
“It has been a great pleasure to follow the work of these players, and I hope that, at some point in the future, we may explore the possibility of developing a women’s project again with the right ambitions and opportunities. Nevertheless, we want to express our immense gratitude to the entire team and everyone who has supported the team over the past years in shaping and creating the Astralis W project.”
This hold allows Astralis to reflect on the team’s future and explore potential opportunities in women’s esports initiatives.
A huge thank you to the team and to everyone who has supported the team throughout the years.
