The Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2023 is officially underway, and with that, so is the main team's hunt for one of the most prestigious trophies in Counter-Strike! On Wednesday, the Danes kicked off the Play-ins against Team Liquid for one of the eight spots left in Cologne.
With a win against Liquid a few days ago, the Danish Squad went into Ancient with confidence that the Bo1 would go their way; and it sure did! From the get-go, the Danes ruthlessly secured the first five rounds on their CT side with four additional round wins after a single close round in favour of Liquid. With few setbacks in the first half, the Danish squad went into the second half with a 10-5 score.
The second half was a short affair when the Danes won their sixth round and hereby moved on to the Upper Bracket Finals with a score of 16-10. Losing the first two rounds on their T side did not affect the Danes, who retaliated with three great rounds. After that, Liquid took home the next three rounds, followed by the Danes doing the same to finish the game in style.
Unsurprisingly, Buzz was voted player of the match by viewers and fans on HTLV.org with 61,3% of the votes. The young gun made one fantastic play after another, including two absolutely crucial clutches on the Danes' T side. Buzz ended the match with a 1.40 rating!
Buzz was, however, not the only Great Dane on the server. On their CT side, IGL blameF, legendary dev1ce, and newcomer b0RUP scored positive ratings of 1.59, 1.48, and 1.43, respectively! What a massive team performance from the dynamic Danes!
