The 25th season of POWER Ligaen culminated yesterday, March 25, with the Playoffs. After beating XI Esport 2-1 in the Semi-final, the Talents faced the reigning champions, Sashi, in the Grand Final.
It was a pure team performance overall in the 2-1 victory against XI Esport in the Semi-final as four out of five players had a rating 2.0 between 0.99 and 1.03.
Emil "kroK" Wiedemann was the only exception as he achieved a 1.20 rating during the three maps, especially thanks to his excellent time on Nuke, earning a 25-11 K/D and a 1.77 rating.
Sashi paved their way to the Grand Final by beating CEPTER 2-0 in the other Semi-final.
The last fixture of POWER Ligaen began on Vertigo, where Jason "JBOEN" Boe Nielsen was at the top with a 1.47 rating in the 13-3 triumph.
On the second map, Overpass, it was anyone's game after the first half, where the score was tied 6-6. As Sashi switched to the CT side, they proved why it was their map pick by winning 7-13.
A three-map Grand Final... what's not to like? Everything would be decided on Inferno, where the Talents had a flying start on the T-side, winning the first five rounds. Sashi responded with six consecutive rounds before Andreas "kiR" Kirstein & Co. could also take their sixth.
Despite a fine start to the second half, Sashi played comfortably on their T-side and eventually won the map 13-9 and ultimately the match 1-2.
Emil "sL1m3" Stolz, their stand-in from Sprout, played a huge role on Inferno, gaining a 24-14 K/D and a 1.68 rating.
