Talent Team Wins Y-Games Pro Series

June 9, 2023

The talent team has been on a successful path in recent weeks.

They just secured a spot in the CCT North Europe Series 5 playoffs and finished on top in the domestic POWER Liga group stage.

Adding to their accomplishments, the talent lineup emerged victorious in the Y-Games Pro Series 2023 online tournamentdefeating DomiNation comfortably in a 2-0 series in the Grand Final.

The Danish talent squad displayed outstanding performances, particularly Kristoffer "Kristou" Aamand and Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth, and emerged as the champions of the European online tournament, winning the prize of $16,19.

Bringing the A-game

Concerning the tournament victory, Mathias "R0nic" Pinholt, the coach of the talent team, states:

- We've been rock solid throughout the tournament, even though we had a shaky duel against Sashi in the quarter-final. That Bo3 match was a nail-biter, but we managed to pull through.

- After that, we brought our A-game and swept all the other teams with a clean 2-0 score.

- It couldn't have gone any better, to be honest.

What are your thoughts on winning the tournament?

- We're overjoyed with this tournament victory, especially considering the rollercoaster ride we experienced in the lead-up to these successful days, with inconsistent results.

- However, what truly mattered was our ability to remain composed and stick to our game plan throughout.

- It was crucial to stay calm and focused, and that's exactly what we did.

Describe what it was like to play in a grand final.

- We made incredibly sharp mid-round calls and executed some of the most exceptional mid-round plays we have ever showcased. It was an absolute pleasure to coach the team yesterday, witnessing our strategies unfold with great success. Additionally, it was truly fantastic to see a player like Alexander "br0" Bro claim the well-deserved MVP title. His outstanding performance throughout the tournament has been nothing short of excellent.

What can the talent lineup learn from this experience?

- For once, we excelled in the role of tournament favourites, a challenge we have struggled with in the past. Therefore, securing a tournament victory without encountering any significant hurdles along the way was very satisfying.

- Our next objective is to qualify for the unofficial World Cup in Romania in August, aiming to finish the season on a high note. We aspire to clinch the POWER Liga title and deliver strong performances in the two CCT tournaments, where we hope to advance to the playoffs.
