On Wednesday, June 12, dev1ce and his Co. will kick off the final big event of the season, the prestigious BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 LAN tournament in London, United Kingdom. They will face Natus Vincere, the Copenhagen Major Champions, in the opening round of the Group A upper bracket.
The last major trophy of the season is at stake, alongside a prize pool of $425,000. The event will run for five days, from June 12 to June 16, 2024.
The competition will move to the OVO Arena Wembley for the playoffs from June 14-16.
The winners will take home $200,000 and a spot at the BLAST Premier World Final, while the 2nd place team will win $85,000, and the 3rd-4th place teams will each receive $40,000.
We sat down with sports director Kasper Straube to discuss the past months, including the newly redefined lineup making it to their fourth semifinal since April and finishing off with a bang at the BLAST Premier Spring Final.
Straube started by sharing the team's ambitions and expectations for the last big event of the season:
"My expectations are that we'll once again show how much we've grown as a team over these months we've been together. We get another chance to compete with the best in the world. We don't have specific results-based expectations, but we'll give everything to achieve a great result before the break," says Kasper Straube.
"The BLAST finals are always extremely competitive since only eight of the best teams in the world participate, so we'll have an exciting and tightly contested group stage where small details could determine who makes it to the playoffs. Both FaZe, NaVi, and us will have expectations to advance from the group, and we need to prove that we deserve a spot while keeping SAW out of the picture. Luckily, we love competing at the highest level and get to do that in group A," the sports director states.
On the progress made since being assembled back in late February:
"We've developed tremendously. From the beginning, we've focused on building a strong in-game identity, which was our primary focus when we had plenty of time to train and really lay the groundwork. This has shown high quality in our gameplay, leading to consistent deep runs in the tournaments we've participated in. Outside of the server, we learn something new about each other and our team from tournament to tournament, almost match by match," Straube adds.
