Head coach Casper 'ruggah' Due's squad is set to take on Complexity's American lineup today at 16:30 CEST in the Lower Bracket of Group C at ESL Pro League S20. Led by Nicolai 'dev1ce' Reedtz, our Danish lineup knows the stakes are high—this is a must-win to avoid dropping to the Last Chance Stage.
After a tough start to the tournament with a 2-1 loss to fnatic, featuring our former team captain Benjamin 'blameF' Bremer, our players are determined to bounce back and make it count.
Although the series against fnatic was tightly contested, especially on Vertigo and Inferno, we couldn’t sustain momentum on Ancient. A weak T-side in the first half made it challenging to bounce back, leading to a tough loss. However, our squad has repeatedly proven its ability to strike back when the pressure is on.
ruggah: "Especially on Ancient (vs. fnatic, ed.), there were too many moments where things escalated too quickly from 0 to 100"
We're eager to prove our strength against Jonathan 'EliGE' Jablonowski's Complexity squad and avoid the Last Chance Stage.
We caught up with ruggah after the tough loss to fnatic, and he's set his sights on redemption. Here's what our head coach had to say about rising to the occasion in today's must-win against Complexity:
"We need to dictate the rounds better than we did against fnatic, ensuring that we set the pace while focusing on trades to create better mid-round situations," says ruggah.
"Against fnatic, the plans were solid, but the execution and attention to detail were below our standard, which led to stretches of rounds where we felt a bit too pressured and ended up in too many disadvantageous situations during crucial rounds. Especially on Ancient, there were too many moments where things escalated too quickly from 0 to 100."
"Additionally, we need to make a stand as a team and as individuals, showing how good we are so we can build the confidence needed for a deep run here in Malta," our head coach adds.
