The BetBoom Dacha LAN event in Dubai witnessed the debut of Jakob 'jabbi' Nygaard and Martin 'stavn' Lund on the main team.
In the three-map thriller against Virtus.pro, the Danes showcased their immense firepower and gave a sneak peek at the future. The team remained competitive throughout, but with only four days of prac together, the Danish quintet did not come out on top and were sent to the lower bracket.
Facing Virtus.pro on their pick of Inferno, the team struggled during the CT-side despite some great showings from Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard and Benjamin "blameF" Bremer on the B-site.
Trailing 8-4 at halftime and a lost and converted pistol round, the Danish quintet had their backs against the wall at the 4-12 scoreline. The team mounted a thrilling comeback, winning five consecutive rounds and fighting for overtime.
Yet, in pivotal 2v4 play in round 24, Virtus.pro defused the bomb with seconds left and secured the first map 9-13.
The team brought some momentum from the last rounds of Inferno into their own pick: Mirage.
By securing the series' first pistol win, the team set the tone for their map pick. The Danes demonstrated adaptability by converting force and half-buys into crucial round wins. Facing slow-paced opponents, the Danish quintet remained patient, seizing the opportunity when Virtus.pro accelerated the pace, resulting in an even 6-6 halftime score.
The second pistol round further solidified their dominance. Through a skilled double frag debuting, Martin 'stavn' Lund secured map point, and the team also secured their first map win with the two new additions.
In the decisive clash on Overpass, the Danes embarked on the T-side with a promising start, securing an early lead with four consecutive rounds.
However, Virtus.pro responded as the first half unfolded, and the half concluded with a tight scoreline of 5-7.
Unfortunately, the team faced setbacks after losing both the pistol and force rounds on the CT side, casting a shadow over their momentum. Despite valiant efforts to regain control and secure a few CT rounds, the team ultimately succumbed to the pressure, resulting in a final score of 7-13.
