A week of mixed results for the Talent team puts pressure on the squad, who now fights to avoid relegation. On the other hand, Katharina "KiTKaT" Bauenmand and her troops have an insane matchweek coming up, facing eight out of nine opponents in three days to end the POWER Liga Group Stage.
The young guns began their week with a 13-6 victory vs. CPH Wolves Academy on Vertigo, where Elliot "suma" Nissen-Jørgensen played a fantastic game.
The 17-year-old rifler delivered a 1.39 rating, a 1.73 K/D, and a 58% headshot ratio.
Afterward, the Talent team faced Denial, currently placed #4 in the league, on Dust2. Daniel "mertz" Mertz and his team initially found four CT rounds in a row, but the Talents quickly responded with three of their own.
With a 5-7 half-time score, Andreas "kiR" Kirstein & Co. took the lead with three consecutive rounds to begin their CT-side campaign. Unfortunately, the win was denied by Denial, who claimed six out of the seven upcoming rounds, winning 9-13.
Despite the defeat, suma and Emil "kroK" Wiedemann were threats to the opponents, both just falling short of the 20-frag mark.
The following matches will be crucial for the Talent's stay in POWER Ligaen. They're currently placed sixth in the league, just one spot away from relegation, now occupied by MASONIC, who the Talent quintet will face in their last match of the week. This is the penultimate playing week, meaning there's work to be done.
It's been a quiet week for the Women's squad in POWER Ligaen, who only played a single match against VAMOS - but what a match it was!
The battle occurred on Dust2, where Astralis began on the T-side and got off to an excellent start, leading 6-2 after eight rounds. VAMOS then tied it up 6-6 going into the second half. Almost the same pattern was repeated in the latter half of the match, resulting in overtime at 12-12. Unfortunately, VAMOS got the best of it, taking the win 13-16 after a close affair.
It's a bittersweet defeat as our AWP'er, Thea "pullox" Evensen, had a marvelous time on Dust2, gaining 28 frags and performing a crazy 1.44 rating.
Just behind her was the captain, KiTKaT, who greatly impacted the game, reaching a 25-18 K/D and a 1.41 rating.
Isabella "Ismo" Ferslev and her companions have a busy week ahead, finishing the group stage with eight matches in three days! The squad is facing the entire 3. Division A throughout the week except VAMOS. The Women's team are currently placed fourth in the 3. Division A, only a few points away from a possible promotion.
