Day two of the Group Stage at YaLLa Compass 2024 began with an incredibly close 11-13 loss to Ninjas in Pyjamas. Having lost twice and won once, the Danes needed a victory to secure a playoff spot. Luckily, the Danes destroyed ENCE 13-3 on Mirage to secure a quarter-final spot.
The two squads have faced each other twice in 2024, with ENCE and former Astralis player Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander winning both best-of-three matches in February. Both teams have made roster chances since, with ENCE's being more recent as they have added Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev and Paavo "podi" Heiskanen to the team.
It all went down on Mirage, where ENCE won the knife and chose to start on the CT side. Being on the attacking side was problem-free for the Danes, which was shown as they gained a decisive 8-1 lead. Astralis' sixth round was marvelous as Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard found himself alone versus four opponents on the B-site. Thanks to a smoke on the bomb, which he could hide in, he killed the defuser and claimed the round.
The Danes continued to dominate in the second half, winning the four remaining rounds and claiming a 13-3 victory.
