The main team continues to claw their way through the ESL Pro League Season Lower Bracket as they manage to pull off a convincing and severely dominant 2-0 victory against GamerLegion in the lower bracket semi-finals.
The usual stars in Benjamin "blameF" Bremer and Nicolai "device" Reedtz delivered stellar performances with blameF showing up with 51 kills and device managing to pull off 43 kills across the two map series.
Now, just one victory separates the Danes from reaching the Playoffs of the ESL Pro League Season 18.
The match started off on Vertigo, the Danish squad's map pick, and were off to a very strong CT side as the Danish main squad ended the first half 11-4.
Nicolai ‘dev1ce’ Reedtz was up to his usual shenanigans delivering very impactful entries in pivotal rounds.
Combined with another strong showing from team captain Benjamin 'blameF' Bremer, who delivered 27 kills and a 1.48 rating, helped convert Vertigo into a convincing map win for the Danes.
Things were about to get even more explosive on Inferno, GamerLegion’s map pick. With a near flawless CT side the Danes secured an unstoppable 14-1 lead in the first half, thereby almost cementing the victory before Inferno even really seemed to begin.
With a pistol round victory on the T side the 15-1 scoreline proved too dominant for the opponents to overcome. GamerLegion didn't bow down too easy though as they fought back to win seven rounds in a row.
The momentum couldn't take the International squad all the way, though, as the Astralis squad eventually put the final nail in the coffin to win Inferno 16-8 and thereby winning the series.
The stakes are high as the road to reach the playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 18 is now closer than ever. All that stands in the way is the last showdown versus the winner of NiP/FURIA, which will be determined later in the evening.
Having already lost 0-2 to NiP in the opening round of the tournament, it would be a sweet taste of revenge to defeat the Swedish organisation in the lower bracket final tomorrow.
