At 19:00 CET on November 22, the main team will kick off their campaign in the prestigious BLAST Premier Fall Final 2023, facing off against Complexity (Bo3) in the opening match of the Group B upper bracket.
Notably, blameF and co. previously defeated this North American roster 2-0 in the Fall Groups back in July, relegating Complexity into the Fall Showdown.
Now, the Danish squad is poised to outperform the North Americans again, aiming to banish Complexity to a decisive lower final.
Head coach Peter "casle" Ardenskjold and assistant coach Mathias "R0nic" Pinholt have taken some time from their busy schedules to lay the groundwork from a tactical perspective before the duel against Complexity at 19:00 CET.
"It's of utmost importance that the guys stick to our overall agreements and continue doing what we have been excelling at in practice," casle says.
"To advance to the upper final of Group B, we must have the courage to deliver a brave performance from the start," the head coach notes.
R0nic shares his opinion:
"Against Complexity, it's crucial that we play our own game and rely on our strengths, something we have sometimes struggled with in recent official matches. Our main focus in Shanghai at the Asia Championships really paid off."
"Back then, you could feel our players' good vibe. Even behind 0-12, we kept our heads high and were determined to fight back. That same energy is essential going into the BLAST Fall Final. If we want to succeed and proceed to the grand stage of the Royal Arena, we need to maintain this spirit," the assistant coach adds.
"Our ambition for the Fall Final is to prove that we are moving in the right direction as a team and unit. Of course, it wouldn't be bad if we get to play in the Royal Arena and qualify for the World Final," casle says.
"Playing on the grand stage on home soil would mean everything, especially for me, as I've never experienced that before. I've dreamed about it for many years, and I hope it happens," the head coach adds.
R0nic shares the same hopes for the upcoming weekend:
"Our goal for this tournament is again to show some great CS. We had an okay run in China and would like to build upon this foundation and recent good performances. However, I must point out that we're not solely focused on the results," he says.
"It's the biggest tournament on Danish soil this year and one of the few where you can play in a home stadium, so it means everything to us to play in the Royal Arena. The fans have supported us through thick and thin, and it would be incredible to play in front of them, hearing them cheer and root for us, especially because we missed out on that last year with a missed qualification," the assistant coach notes.
The Danes currently have an 83% win rate on Overpass (6 maps), a 67% win rate on Nuke (3 maps), and a 40% win rate on Ancient (5 maps).
Complexity has an 80% win rate on three maps: Overpass (10 maps), Vertigo (5 maps), and Anubis (15 maps).
