The first day of the European BLAST Paris Major 2023 RMR has concluded with Group B officially on the road.

We're competing in a Bo1 Swiss System format, with elimination and advancement matches being Bo3. Simply put, in this format, we need three wins to qualify for the BLAST Paris Major 2023. However, three losses and we're out.

Firstly, we faced some of our former players in dupreeh, Magisk, and coach zonic as we took on Vitality on Vertigo in a best-of-one.

We got a fine start on the skyscraper as we won the pistol round and the following two. Vitality then built some economy and edged six rounds in a row until we responded with another round win.

Despite claiming a few rounds, Vitality took the first half 5-10, and their dominance looked to be continued in the second half as they got up to 14 rounds.

This is when our athletes' experience comes into play, as they showed mental strength by coming back into the game. We claimed eight consecutive rounds, almost tying the score 13-14.

Unfortunately, Vitality had the margins as they won the game 14-16 and sent us into the 0-1 bracket, where we faced Eternal Fire in the evening.

Once again, Vertigo was chosen as the battleground, but this time around, we got a different start than against Vitality.

Eternal Fire's T-side caught us off guard, which resulted in a 1-7 score until we responded with four consecutive rounds.

The half ended 6-9, meaning we needed a great T-side to come back, but Eternal Fire strung together six rounds in a row, making the score 6-15, and eventually won the game 7-16.

We're now 0-2 after the first day, so we must make a reverse sweep to qualify for the Major. The first step is being taken tomorrow at 13:00 CEST against Team Spirit, a team we've played a lot in the recent months.

Our latest result was a 2-0 victory in the IEM Dallas 2023 Europe Closed Qualifier around two weeks ago.
