Astralis is excited to announce the appointment of Dennis 'Rytter' Rytter, an accomplished Danish Counter-Strike coach, as the new Talent Coach, effective Monday, September 2.
This appointment follows the transition of Alexander 'alexsomfan' Nielsen to a new assistant role with the Main team, leaving the Talent roster in need of a new strong leadership.
Rytter: "As a coach, I love being close to my players and building strong bonds, which fosters mutual commitment—we'll do anything for each other."
Dennis Rytter, 36, brings much experience from his recent role as Head Coach of Apeks Rebels, where he has excelled since December 2023. Before this, he played a crucial role in developing young, promising players as a coach for PROSPECTS.
With his extensive background in nurturing emerging talent, Rytter is an ideal fit to lead Astralis' Talent roster. He is poised to guide the team to new successes and elevate its young players to new heights.
Kasper Straube, Sports Director, on the Appointment:
"We chose Dennis because he's an experienced coach who, like the rest of our coaching team, has a deep tactical understanding of CS. Additionally, he has a valuable background in working with young players and knows how to develop their potential. We believe that Dennis, with his personality and expertise, will cooperate effectively with our other coaches, creating a stronger and more cohesive connection between our teams," says Straube.
"The goals for the Talent lineup remain the same. We aim to develop young Danish players, and in the short term, our objective is for the team, under Rytter's guidance, to climb the rankings and become more competitive in the tier 2-3 scene," Straube adds.
"I'm incredibly proud to take on the role of coach for the Talent roster. I've been coaching young talent for a long time, so it was an easy yes when this opportunity came up. This role represents the pinnacle of talent development for me. I'm excited to work with the five players and everyone else in the organization. Together, we'll push the Talent team and these players even further, preparing them for the next steps in their careers," says Dennis Rytter.
"It's a huge honor to wear the Astralis logo. As a former esports educator, I owe a lot to Astralis, as they're one of the reasons esports became part of school curriculums across the country. So many people, both young and old, know what Astralis represents, and I'm incredibly proud to be part of this organization. I'm looking forward to working with everyone here and can't wait to start and make a real impact."
"As a coach, I love being close to my players and building strong bonds, which fosters mutual commitment—we'll do anything for each other. This approach ensures we bring out the best in each other every single day," Rytter notes.
