The BLAST Premier Fall Final has officially kicked off in Copenhagen, thus giving the main team the advantage of playing on home turf. The guys embarked on their journey in Group B against the North Americans on Complexity. The match was intense, dramatic, and nail-biting in many ways.
Unfortunately, what looked like a walk in the park on map two, the Danes ended up losing to a Complexity comeback, and with that, losing the match 0-2 after losing on Ancient, as well.
The guys' map pick, Ancient, was up first. The green and brick-filled map is usually a strong map for the Danes, and although they put up a proudful effort, Complexity eventually took home the win. Though the Danish squad's stats aren't particularly flashy, the nine rounds they won demonstrate how well they play together as a team that doesn't rely only on one player. The guys' T side was the strongest of the day, which Benjamin 'blameF' Bremer's clutch below demonstrates!
Despite losing their map pick, the Danes, as often demonstrated before, weren't shaken! Going into Overpass, starting on the CT side, the Danish squad steamrolled Complexity to take home a half-time score of 10-2.
Complete dominance from the team with insane ratings, such as Victor 'Staehr' Staehr's 1.91 rating, shows how convincing the guys can be.
Things were looking rather well for the Danes in the second half, with a third map to be expected. Unfortunately, Overpass proved to be as kind to Complexity on their CT side as it had been to the Danish squad in the first half. An identical half of a 2-10 score meant that overtime was needed. In the end, Complexity secured three CT-sided overtime wins to win the map and end the Danish quintet's Upper Bracket journey.
Interviewed after the match, Staehr admitted that the team's performance on the T side on Overpass was not as hoped, and emphasized that the roster needs to step up their game before facing Heroic.
