Our Main team just cruised into the semi-finals this Saturday, April 13, thanks to a commanding 2-0 win at the IEM Chengdu 2024 LAN tournament.
This time, the Russian roster Virtus.pro was the one to face a crushing defeat against our Danish lineup led by the superior Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz, who has now ended the group stage 5-0 in maps, 9-1 in pistol rounds, and with a 71.4% round win rate, along with his newly adjusted, high-performing teammates.
On both maps, Overpass and Vertigo, the Dzhami "Jame" Ali-led Russians were limited to only seven round wins or fewer—just like all the other opponents our main squad faced at this Chinese event. As a result, our guys have secured a top-four finish at the IEM Chengdu, marking the first big event playoff appearance since IEM Cologne 2023.
On Overpass, Virtus.pro's map pick, dev1ce, and Co., once again took firm control of the battlefield by winning the pistol round and ultimately leading 9-3 on the CT side before switching at halftime. On the offensive T side, an aggressive approach proved successful, and therefore, the Danes closed out the map 13-6.
This time, Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard was on a roll on Overpass:
On Vertigo, a similar story unfolded, this time on the T side, with Casper "ruggah" Due's troops clinching their ninth pistol round in nine attempts as true pistol kings and leading 10-2 before switching to the CT side.
From there, the Danes secured the victory 13-7, closing out the series in a dominant 2-0 fashion.
Martin "stavn" Lund was the bright spot on Vertigo:
