The Road to the PGL CS2 Copenhagen Major 2024 begins for the Danes tomorrow, January 18, as they'll compete in the Closed Qualifier B for the European RMR.
It has been announced that the Danish squad will take on ex-ThunderFlash at 17:00 CET in their first Best-of-1 match. You can catch all the action live on Astralis Watch, where a special guest, Markus Kjærbye, will join Frederik 'ministerN' Brandt on the stream. Our fans may recognize him better by his nickname, Kjaerbye, and the legendary Counter-Strike player will join as co-caster on Astralis Watch alongside ministerN on January 18th.
This weekend the main squad warmed up to the Closed Qualifier by competing at CGW Invitational and claiming the trophy after beating NIP 2-0 in the Grand Final.
The European Closed Qualifiers are split into two divisions, A and B, where 32 teams in total fight for 21 spots at the European RMR in Romania.
Benjamin "blameF" Bremer and his squad, alongside seven other teams, have been invited to the Closed Qualifier B because of their Valve Ranking. As the open qualifiers have concluded, eight more teams have joined the division.
They'll battle it out in a Swiss System Format, meaning three victories secure qualification to the European RMR, while three defeats send you home.
All matches are best-of-one, except advancement or elimination matches. Eight teams will then qualify directly for the European RMR during the Swiss System.
Luckily, there's a second chance if you lose three matches. The three teams who lose the 2-2 decider match will face off against three similar teams from the Closed Qualifier A in a Decider Bracket.
Five out of six teams qualify for the European RMR from the Decider Bracket.
If the Danes qualify for the European RMR, they'll compete in Romania from February 14 - February 17 or February 19 - February 22, depending on the Division they'll be put in.
But first, the Danish quintet will have to fight in the Closed Qualifier B, which you can watch in Danish at Astralis Watch, starting January 18.
