We reign supreme in the Upper bracket semi-final against GODSENT in a 2-1 victory.
From March 31 to April 3, we're participating in the IEM Dallas 2023 Closed Qualifier, where two tickets to Dallas are on the line. Yesterday, March 31, we won our first match in the double-elimination format against Spirit with a 2-0 score.
GODSENT picked Inferno as the first map, which came down to the wire. Despite getting a good 3-0 start, GODSENT quickly turned things around and took the lead 3-6.
After a 5-10 half, in favor of GODSENT, we mimicked our start on the CT side by claiming the first three rounds in a row. The second half got interesting as dev1ce and blameF won a crucial 2v4 situation, making the game even closer.
We tied the score 13-13 but couldn't complete the comeback as GODSENT won the final three rounds and the map 13-16.
Nuke was our home turf in this matchup, which turned out to be a success. The performance on the T-side was marvelous, especially the performances from dev1ce and Buzz, who took home T-side ratings of 1.83 and 1.61.
Going into the second half, we led 11-4, an excellent baseline for success as Counter-Terrorists. GODSENT strung a few rounds, but it wasn't enough, as the Astralis boys came out victorious 16-9.
A team rating of 1.30 shouldn't be overlooked by dev1ce's incredible performance consisting of 26 frags and a 1.86 rating.
Talking of incredible performances, the first half of the decider map, Ancient, was precisely that. GODSENT only managed to win one round as CT, whereas we conquered 14.
The Swedes tried to bounce back in the second half by winning five rounds in a row, but two bomb defuses later, the map was done as we won 16-6. Buzz topped the scoreboard with a 22-12 K/D.
We are now through to the Upper bracket final against Cloud9, ranked #7 globally. If we win on Monday, April 3, at 12:00 CEST, we're going to Dallas for the $250,000 ESL tournament.
