On February 22, the Main Team played a crucial match against Ence for qualification to the PGL CS2 Major on Danish soil. Despite their valiant efforts, the Danes were unable to secure victory. Ultimately, the disappointing defeat leaves them with one last opportunity to secure their spot in the Major through the Last Chance Qualifier.
On both maps, the Danes struggled, losing all pistol rounds. On both maps, they strung consecutive rounds together towards the end of the first half and were even on the lead at halftime on Ancient. However, the team was unable to gain the required momentum on either map and found themselves defeated 0-2.
This leaves the Danish Quintet with one single option left to make it to the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024, namely, the Last Chance Qualifier, which will take place on Friday and Saturday, February 23 & 24.
The Last Chance Qualifier poses a critical opportunity for teams with a 2-3 record in the Swiss format. Here, the stakes are incredibly high, with only one out of six teams advancing from this stage. Teams must achieve consecutive Bo3 wins to progress, leaving no room for error.
This intense qualifier comprises three teams from RMR A - BetBoom, 9 Pandas, and fnatic - and three from RMR B, including Astralis, and two teams to be determined on February 22.
The Danish Quintet will play their first Bo3 match in the qualifier on Friday, February 23. The opponent and time of the game are to be determined.
