No. 2 seed headed into BLAST Gauntlet Playoffs

January 31, 2022

The year's second event, BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022, was action-packed and filled with phenomenal CS this weekend. With four games on one day, for 12 teams, had everyone pushed to their limits, which was a real show of who had it in them to fight for the number 1 seed in their group.

Saturday started with a rough start against the number 16 in the world, OG, on Ancient. With their new player Nexa from G2, OG showed high-level performance from the get-go, leading us to a 16-8 loss and sending us to the Lower Bracket Final, getting Natus Vincere, who got beat Brazillian MiBR.

The game against NAVI got settled on our former permaban, Mirage. At the game start of the game, NAVI showed us the same dominance they had shown all through 2021, starting with a 6-0 lead on the T side. Yet, BlameF with 33 kills, four clutches won, and an insane Lucky + Xyp9x 4v2 in Overtime, our boys take the victory with a top-level performance against the world's number 1.

After the incredible win against NAVI, we moved forward to the Consolidation final against MiBR. After an excellent performance on Overpass, gla1ve & Co won 7 rounds on the T side and nine rounds on the CT side, only losing one round on CT, closing out the game 16-8 against MIBR.

In the group final, fighting for the number 1 seed for the gauntlet stage, we meet our opponents from the first match of the day, OG. After a solid T side on Inferno, we moved onto the CT side, where we never got the ball rolling, leading to a 16-8, which means that we are seated as the number 2 in our group.

We play the 4th February against the winner between BIG / Evil Geniuses as the second seed. Be sure to check the schedule
