On Wednesday, the Danes kicked off the ESL Pro League Season 18 group stage with a Bo3 against NIP.
Both teams fought to stay in the upper bracket of Group A, with Vitality waiting in the upper semi-finals.
With numerous wins over the last few months on Ancient, the Danish squad chose Ancient as their map pick. From the get-go, the Danes shone as they took home the first three rounds of the game.
Unfortunately, NIP managed to turn the tide and turn the game into a back-and-forth situation.
Four round wins in their favour, then two in the Danes', followed by three by NIP, sums up the entire match.
Clusters of round wins for both teams made the game unpredictable. Unfortunately, NIP won the map with a score of 10-16.
Ever optimistic, the Danish boys went into the second map, Inferno, ready to give it their best.
Once again, the match consisted of clusters of wins for each team.
The Danes won the initial pistol round and were off to a great start.
The first half, however, was dominated by NIP, who secured nine rounds on their T-side. The Danes's T-side, too, looked very promising as they, led by blameF, kicked off the second half with four round wins in a row.
From there, NIP took home the remaining rounds they needed to win the map 11-16.
Sadly, the initial group stage map ended in defeat.
