In November, the arrival of the new dynamic duo of Jakob 'Jabbi' Nygaard and Martin 'Stavn' Lund signaled bright and promising hopes for the future, breathing new life into the roster with fresh energy, unique skills, and tactical opportunities.
After the announcement, Jakob 'Jabbi' Nygaard and Martin 'Stavn' Lund were quickly put under the spotlight in video interviews, sharing their aspirations and expectations for their time at Astralis.
Since then, the Danish lineup has poured countless hours into relentless pracc, culminating in their recent triumph at the Copenhagen Gaming Week Invitational LAN tournament, marking their 2024 debut undefeated.
Ahead of the crucial Europe RMR Closed Qualifier, we unveil these video interviews with the two riflemen, shedding light on the newest additions to Benjamin 'blameF' Bremer's leadership.
"I'm most looking forward to securing some strong results in the future, playing some fantastic CS, and putting in the hard yards in pracc with the guys because wins don't come easy; they always require a relentless effort."
"I see this strong roster consistently delivering great results over time; the ambition is to establish ourselves as one of the best. But a pressing objective here and now would be to qualify for the prestigious PGL CS2 Major in Copenhagen 2024, and I know I have the full support of my teammates in chasing that goal. It would be a major setback if we didn't; we are determined to make it happen. I firmly believe we have the potential, and I'm excited to see what this lineup can accomplish."
jabbi also reflects on his new dynamic within the Astralis roster:
"This team is a group of proactive individuals who are unafraid and fearless in taking the initiative. Everyone dares to voice their thoughts and make a solid plan; of course, everyone has a strong aim, too. Even though we haven't been playing together for that long, we still have a lot to offer from day one, and the short time we've been practicing together thus far further reinforces my belief in the incredible potential of this lineup."
The Road to the PGL CS2 Copenhagen Major 2024 begins for the Danes tomorrow, January 18, as they'll compete in the Closed Qualifier B for the European RMR.
