Few people outside the Astralis team knew that Emil 'Magisk' Reif took over the IGL role from Lukas 'gla1ve' Rossander in early 2020. The change of roles was not announced until after the team's victory at ESL One Road to Rio in May. Shortly after, gla1ve went on a break and Magisk continued as acting IGL which resulted in an impressive run at Pro League S12.
gla1ve has returned in full force and is now ready to take the responsibility of the IGL role back in Astralis continuous fight for titles.
Danny 'zonic' Sørensen, Head Coach:
Both gla1ve and Magisk were back in their respective roles for the clash against Team Liquid. An old rival the team has not faced since BLAST Global Finals in Bahrain in December, 2019 where Astralis came out on top in the final. Now, almost a year later, the team once again eliminated Team Liquid this time from DreamHack Masters Winter.
Emil 'Magisk' Reif:
Magisk showcased how great he is at rifling in his first match back in his old role. 44-35 and an ADR of 87.9 across two maps was a big factor in the team's victory again Team Liquid. gla1ve finished the game with a more humble individual performance but was praised for his tactics, especially on Inferno, where his calls proved a nuisance for Liquid's CT side.
Lukas 'gla1ve' Rossander:
Astralis next match is against G2 Esports on December 3, CET 16:30. The winner advance to playoffs.
