Johannes "b0RUP" Borup, a 23-year-old Danish rifler, was introduced to the main team just two months ago, alongside young prodigy Victor "Staehr" Staehr, becoming the newest addition to the Danish Quintet.
Since joining, b0RUP has quickly proven his value, delivering exciting plays and contributing significantly to the success of the Benjamin "blameF" Bremer-led squad.
His skill was on display in both the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2023 and the recent IEM Cologne 2023, where the team fought their way from the play-in to the semi-finals of the prestigious LAN Tournament in Germany.
When the announcement was made in June, b0RUP graciously took the time to share insights about himself. He opens up about his ambitions and his upbringing in the small Danish town Kalundborg and explains why the bustling life in Copenhagen isn't for him.
Despite his preference for a quieter lifestyle, he still makes his weekly appearance at the Astralis Headquarters, located in the heart of the Danish Capital.
Want to know more about this charismatic player, whose laughter and smile can lift the team's spirit in nearly any situation?
Watch this video portrait of b0RUP, and get an intimate look at the person behind the plays.
- I believe I was brought in because of my skill level and ability to create space on the maps when needed. My CT positions are also a good fit within blameF's system.
- Now, I'll be playing at a higher level than before and with better players around me, but it's nothing I can't handle. That's for sure.
