On Wednesday, the Astralis main team played a string of games in the Gamers8 Open Europe Qualifier. The squad started the qualifier with two displays of dominance in 16-3 and 16-4 wins against QMISTRY and Team 7AM, respectively.
The boys were electric from the beginning, with Benjamin "blameF" Bremer and newcomer Alexander "Altekz" Givskov securing 24 frags each in the two opening matches.
From there on, the team dominated throughout the entire qualification to show off their individual and team prowess.
With five wins in the qualifier, the squad managed to qualify for the semi-final on Thursday at 10.30 CEST.
- Astralis vs. QMISTRY: The team kicked off the qualifier with a dominating display on Ancient. With a 13-2 half, the road to the 16-3 win was very short.
- Astralis vs. Team 7AM: The players continued their dominance on Ancient against Team 7AM with yet another steamroller performance and a 16-4 win.
- Astralis vs. let us cook: The third matchup was closer than the players would have liked. let us cook put up a strong fight, but in the end the boys secured a satisfying 16-14 win.
- Astralis vs. B8: The first-half display against B8 was not the teams strongest, but they quickly turned a 9-6 score into a 16-8 win.
- Astralis vs. Movistar Riders: The fifth and final qualification match against Movistar Riders was on Vertigo. With an exciting 7-8 first-half, the players knew they had to step up in the second half. That's exactly what they did, and the team finished the qualifier with a 16-10 win.
