The battle on the decisive map was incredibly tight, with BIG managing to edge out by a slim margin on both CT and T sides.
During the second half, the Danish squad secured some crucial rounds on the offensive side, staggering on the brink of a successful comeback. Despite their strong efforts, they couldn't clinch the victory against the Germans and faced a 14-16 defeat on the final map.
Now, Benjamin "blameF" Bremer and his team face the task of bouncing back in the Knockout Stage.
They're scheduled to participate in the first elimination match on Friday, July 21st, at 15:00 CEST.
The team put on a dominant display on Anubis.
Kicking off their match strongly, the Danish quintet comfortably outplayed BIG, who picked the map, and claimed a 16-8 win.
Standout performances came from the trio of young Danish riflers – Victor "Staehr" Staehr, Johannes "b0RUP" Borup, and Christian "Buzz" Andersen – whose skills were on full display.
Holding a 9-6 lead at halftime on the defensive side, the team harnessed exceptional teamwork and individual prowess to maintain their momentum.
They secured the win by ruling the offensive side with a 7-2 run in the second half, rounding off with a convincing 16-8 victory.
In the first half on Anubis, Staehr scored four kills on the bombsite A defense with a powerful play (3 M4A4 and 1 Deagle HS), bringing the scoreboard to 5-1.
Despite starting the second game on Ancient, their preferred map, with momentum from their prior win, the Danes stumbled and suffered a 10-16 loss.
Even so, BlameF and his team had a commendable beginning, highlighted by the Danish in-game leader's remarkable 1v2 clutch in a post-plant situation.
The team initially held a 7-4 lead in the first half but saw this slip away, trailing 7-8 by halftime.
BIG retaliated strongly with a seven-round winning streak in the second half, showcasing their offensive strength.
The Danish squad's momentum decreased, securing only three rounds on the CT side, and wrapped up the second half with a disappointing 3-8 loss.
Consequently, BIG turned the match around with a 16-10 victory on Ancient, pushing the series to a deciding game.
Ultimately, the Danes suffered a 16-14 defeat in a tightly contested battle on the third and final map, Overpass.
This resulted in a 2-1 series loss.
