The main team left nothing to chance when they faced off against the American team, Complexity, in the first Elimination Match of the BLAST Fall Groups Gauntlet on July 21st.
Despite a challenging start to this crucial match, blameF and his team courageously fought back. They completely reversed the tide on the first map, Vertigo, their map pick, ultimately claiming victory with a 16-12 win.
After a brief intermission, the Danish players dominated the first half of the second map, Overpass. They executed an impressive ten-round winning streak on the CT side, demonstrating that their focus during recent practice days had paid off, leaving their opponents from Complexity with no chance to retaliate.
With a resounding 16-4 victory on Complexity's map pick and ultimately emerging triumphant in the 2-0 series, the Danes are now prepared for their second elimination match against Liquid, set to take place on Saturday, July 22nd.
The stakes are high for this upcoming match: the winner will qualify for the Fall Final, while the losing team will proceed to the Fall Showdown.
Following a wildly shaky beginning, where the Danes suffered defeats in the first three rounds and trailed at a daunting 7-2 deficit at one point, the Danish team scaled a superb comeback to emerge victorious in the first half with a score of 8-7.
A six-round winning streak marked their dominating performance.
The second half mirrored the first in its dramatic turns. Initially, Complexity struck back by claiming four consecutive round wins, which tipped the scoreline in favour of the Americans at 11-8.
However, the Danish quintet skillfully shifted the momentum from that point onwards. With a final victory of 16-12, the guys effectively conceded only one round out of the subsequent nine to their opponents.
There was no uncertainty about the outcome of the confrontation on the second map, Overpass. The team thoroughly outperformed Complexity, culminating in a final scoreline of 16-4.
With an impressive ten-round winning streak on the CT side, leaving no quarter for their opponents, the formidable 10-0 scoreline undoubtedly could have imposed an 'Astralis Complex' on the American team, Complexity (pun intended). They managed to mark their first point only in the 11th round.
After winning the first half 12-3, blameF and his teammates had no difficulty securing the overall victory by clinching a 4-1 win on the Terrorist side.
The conclusion from this match must be that the players' recent efforts to enhance their CT side during practice days indeed did pay off.
Notably, the in-game leader delivered an outstanding performance on Overpass, boasting an impressive kill-death ratio of 27/6.
