The first of two online tournaments to end 2022 ended as a bag of mixed emotions. Losing 2-0 vs Heet after leading both maps was a major disappointment, however seeing Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz back on the server, doing dev1ce-things was uplifting, to say the least.
Acting Coach, Peter “casle” Ardenskjold
- We entered the tournament to get some valuable game time together as a team to get used to new roles, and to show a good performance. Result wise, going out in the quarter final is of course disappointing, but the errors we made are fixable.
- The good part is the way we adapted to the role changes – and the impact of having dev1ce back on the team. His performance was everything we hoped for, and then some. The stats are one thing, the team work and contribution to the team is of equal value. We should not expect these kind of numbers from him every time, and we can’t put all the pressure on single players, but having more players delivering like this, surely gives you a lot of perspectives, going forward, “casle” comments.
Nicolai “dev1ce” himself is happy to be back, but as always it’s the team first
- I am not gonna lie; it feels great to be back! I am still a bit rusty, which shows in some situations, but overall I am just happy to be back and to have this feeling of being on a team again. It is always about the team, and I am disappointed about the result, but being back is awesome.
- We should have closed it on both maps, but honestly, we made too many mistakes, and I am including myself here. And then I have to compliment Heet for constantly being in our face and Afro was just a constant nuisance. He was extremely good, but so was his team.
- The result of that game is not going to overshadow the overall positive feeling, though. There is so much to build on, and I am completely confident we are on the right path and that we will only improve from here. As a team, but also for myself. Bad result, good feeling, says dev1ce. The team will play one more online tournament in December. Details will follow.
