The Bosnian brothers were too much of a mouthful for the Danes as they lost 0-2 in the semi-final of IEM Cologne 2023 against G2 Esports.
The Semi-final began on the Danes' home turf, Ancient. G2 won the initial three rounds but were quickly tied at 3-3. The half ended in favour of the international squad 5-10. In true Western style, Benjamin "blameF" Bremer fought off five G2 players with the dual elites to start the second half with an ace.
Eventually, the Danish squad tied the score 11-11, but afterwards, G2 had the upper hand and closed the map 12-16.
Despite facing a fearless Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and being down 0-5 in the first half of Inferno, blameF & Co. tightened the score 6-9 after the first 15 rounds. G2 Esports then continued their upward trajectory by taking six rounds in a row and closing the map 9-16 a few rounds later. A 0-2 defeat sends the Danish team home from Germany.
Thank you for the support throughout IEM Cologne 2023!
