On January 16, the Women's team begins the 25th season of the domestic POWER Ligaen with a faceoff against AaB Female.
Before the first fight, Aurora 'aurora' Lyngdal, the in-game leader of the Women's lineup, shared her thoughts on the team's preparations for the upcoming matches in both the POWER League and the forthcoming season of ESEA Open.
The women's squad closed out 2023 in strong fashion, making history by reaching the Grand Final of the Nordic Women's Championship and retaining their spot in the Danish domestic league.
aurora: With just a bit more experience and the whole team stepping up on the server, we could be a strong and fierce team this season
The Danish lineup is confident going into the new season and is eager to display their skills on the server, aurora states. The ambition is to continue the strong performance and, this time, make a deep playoff run in the POWER League and ESEA Open.
"The restart after the player break has been perfect! We have worked hard with new, innovative strategies and tactics and have also been focusing a lot on a new, specific map in our map pool," aurora says.
"We have had a significant focus on implementing this new specific map in our map pool, but also making our tactics and performance stronger on the existing ones."
Where do you see your team's level as of now?
"As a unit, we stand strong, and I believe this year will bring much more victories than last year!"
So, you guys return to the POWER League stronger and even more hungry for success?
"Last year's POWER Ligaen was a bit special because the new CS2 came out in the middle of the season, but still, we were all forced to play the tournament to the end in CS:GO, which we had stopped playing because we are eager to adapt to the new game. But overall, my teammates and I have gained much experience playing the Domestic League, and we're all more than ready to counter the new season."
"I hope that we move up to the ESEA Intermediate; we were very close the last time, so I feel comfortable that we will succeed this time, and in the POWER League, I also hope for a move up; that would be great!"
As the team's in-game leader, what did you aim to improve the most during this restart?
"I want to see us all leveling up individually and gaining more experience. With just a little more experience and the whole team stepping up on the server, we could be a strong and fierce team," says aurora.
