Casper "ruggah" Due is the next coach for Astralis' first team.
He comes with extensive experience both as a player and coach, where he has worked at the top level for the past seven years at organizations such as OG, OpTic Gaming, and Danish North.
Casper Due will take office no later than April 1, 2024, when his current contract expires. Until then, the team's current assistant coach, Mathias "R0nic" Pinholt, will act as the team's coach and, together with the performance organization, will take care of the tasks at hand.
- I am happy that we have come to an agreement with Casper, who, in addition to being a really skilled coach, comes with experience from the highest level. This is one of our priorities in the larger analysis work we have done around the requirements for a coach in Astralis and our culture, as well as the expectations we have for all members of our coaching team.
- I feel that we have been thorough in mapping out the requirements in relation to both short-term needs and long-term development, and the choice has fallen on Casper, who, in terms of personality and approach to team management, is almost a perfect match. I am very much looking forward to working with him.
- The work with the team continues as before, where our assistant coach Mathias "R0nic" Pinholt has handled the tasks since the New Year. In addition to his current role as assistant coach, he has for a
period been head coach of our talent team, and he knows both the players, the organization, and our methods inside out.
