Astralis expands the "team around the team" and adds former top badminton player, Jan Ø. Jørgensen to the organization's performance team under sports director Kasper Hvidt.
Jan Ø. Jørgensen joins as a performance coach for individual players, where his focus will be on the mental and structural work around relevant players.
Jan has already started focusing on the organization's Fortnite star, "Th0masHD", who aims to become the world's best player.
Kasper Hvidt, Director of Sports
- We have for a long time been in dialogue with Jan Ø. Jørgensen who brings invaluable experience with him from his professional badminton career. He is part of our performance team, focusing on individual players, where he initially focuses on Fortnite and ThomasHD, who is not far from the absolute top, says Kasper Hvidt.
Jan Ø. Jørgensen, performance coach
- I have followed Astralis on the sidelines for several years and seen how the organization has moved an entire industry in terms of how one thinks of performance and culture. Their work fascinates me deeply, and through our ongoing dialogue, I can see myself thinking very similarly to how Kasper Hvidt thinks and works, states Jan Ø. Jørgensen.
Th0masHD Høxbro Davidsen, Astralis player in Fortnite
- I have already started training with Jan, and even though we come from very different worlds, I am sure he, with his experience and a more structured approach to training and life as a player, will give me a lot, ThomasHD concludes.
Jan Ø. Jørgensen joins Astralis' Performance Team, which is led by Mikkel Hjuler and Signe Find, next to team doctor Nikolaj Rindom, Body SDS therapist Erling Andersen and reflex zone therapist Søren Malling.
