The company behind Astralis’ world-famous Counter-Strike team has been acquired by Fusion Esports Group, a Danish investor group led by Jakob Lund and Jonas Gundersen. Jakob, co-founder of both Astralis and BLAST, brings over a decade of esports experience, while Jonas adds international expertise as a former professional player and most recently Group COO at Ninjas in Pyjamas, which listed on Nasdaq last year.

The investor group also includes Sander Janca (Flatpay), Thorbjørn Rønje (Bifrost Studios), Sebastian Seilund (Userflow), among other notable entrepreneurs.

Astralis is one of the biggest brands in esports, with a huge impact on an entire generation of Danish gamers. The potential is still enormous, both commercially and competitively. We’re building a new Astralis with fresh energy and new methods, while keeping our focus on performance.

Our first match is already Friday with a new player and patience is key, but our priority is always to give players the best conditions to succeed – long term.
