Four Players Ranked in the Top 20 Players of 2023

January 8, 2024

Following the recent announcement that Martin "stavn" Lund is ranked as the ninth-best player of 2023 by HLTV, it can be stated that Astralis is entering 2024 with four Top 20 players on the team.

This status hasn't been seen since 2019 when all five team players were featured on the same Top 20 list published in January.

Straube: We enter 2024 with five incredibly strong individualists

Sports Director Kasper Straube is a happy and optimistic man these days:

"The four spots on the Top 20 list emphasize that we are entering 2024 with a team of strong individual players and profiles who have proven themselves at a high international level in the past year," says Straube.

"We have a team comprising both young, hungry, and immensely talented players such as Jabbi and Staehr, as well as more experienced players, among whom blameF, dev1ce, and Stavn could almost be considered permanent members on the list of the top 20 players in the world. This only emphasizes their ability to consistently deliver top-tier performances, which I expect they will also show in 2024."

"At Astralis, however, we don't believe individual performances create the most significant successes. Therefore, our primary focus right now is on harnessing all this individual quality and talent and channeling it into a sense of community and team spirit, laying the groundwork for us to deliver substantial achievements in 2024. There are many strong teams in the world of esport, so we take nothing for granted, but we are just happy to have five players on the team, each willing to give their all to repay the Astralis fans for their support whenever they encounter fans."

"We are indeed entering 2024 with great optimism!" the Sports Director states.
